Can anyone confirm whether the Maharashtra state government has declared a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act in Mumbai for the 16th of February 2012 municipal corporation elections? I am asking this as different people are expressing varying opinions.

This notification does not indicate whether the holiday is under the NI Act. Hence, it is unclear whether the banks are declared a holiday on 16th Feb 2012 or if the banks will be working. Kindly clarify.

The notification I have posted is applicable only to commercial and industrial establishments, including shops, to which the public holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act do not apply.
