Struggling to Land an HR Trainee Job: How Can I Gain Experience When It's Always Required?

I have completed an MBA with a specialization in HR and am currently seeking a job as an HR Trainee. However, the issue I am facing is that every time I apply for such positions, they require experience or give priority to females. I am feeling very frustrated these days and unsure of what to do next. Please advise me on how I can gain the necessary experience in this field.

This is not a gender-based issue, as I see in many industries males are preferred as HR, especially in manufacturing.

If you want to be selective, then you will not suddenly get the proper job. So, please try any kind of job first as an experiment. Then, it will be possible for you to get the right kind of job as per your thinking.

Don't worry, just try to apply for Government Sector Management Trainee Jobs; then you can easily gain the experience. There is no gender problem in Government jobs, I think. It's quite difficult to enter the HR field; it's better if you try to prepare for Government exams. This is my thought.

I have now almost 1.4 years of experience in HR and Admin fields in an IT company. I got this job after a 6-month search. I received various job offers in BPOs, consultancies, and event management companies as an event coordinator or in back-end roles. I turned down all of them because I wanted to work in HR in a company. After 6 months, I secured a comparatively low-paying job, but the experience I gained is extremely valuable and worth the wait.

So, you have to be patient and persistent. You will find the right job for you when you are ready to take it up. It is definitely challenging, especially since companies typically prefer experienced candidates. If you want to work, consider starting out in a consultancy. Spend some time there and then apply to companies. I have always advised my friends, and I will suggest the same to you: if you do take up a job anywhere, try to stay there for at least a year or 18 months.
