Understanding and Overcoming Fear

Fear is an evil emotion that keeps us from projecting ourselves. To overcome fear, we need to understand what causes it. Fear arises the moment we start thinking about results. Often, we anticipate negative outcomes from our performance, which hinders us from acting.

Setting Performance-Oriented Goals

To conquer fear, set goals that are performance-oriented rather than result-oriented. When someone criticizes us, view it as an opportunity to learn something new. Fear can only be overcome by confronting it; do not evade it. If you run from fear once, it will dominate and control you. Take that initial step, and you will be prepared. Fear inhibits you from taking this first step. Remind yourself that you will proceed regardless of the outcome.
BARNBARN
The best line is the suggestion: Now, to overcome fear, just set your goals to be performance-oriented rather than result-oriented.
