It is applicable to a software company. Since the Shops Act is a State Act, it is better to refer to the Act of your state to determine if any exemptions have been granted from all or any of the provisions of the Act by the government. Normally, the following registers are to be maintained:

1. Register of employment
2. Register of leave
3. Muster roll
4. Leave book
5. Visit book
