Please find attached herewith a copy of the Circular dated 03-02-2012 issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Labour, Mumbai. In the said Circular, the Special Allowance (Dearness Allowance) declared under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 for the period of 01-01-2012 to 30-06-2012.

I hope you are doing well. I would like to seek your advice regarding the situation where an employee passes away after completing 58 years of age and being eligible for pension. The employee had been receiving a pension for the last year and was due to retire in July 2012. Unfortunately, he passed away before his retirement.

My query is whether the legal heir of the deceased employee will be eligible to receive EDLI benefits. Could you please clarify whether the legal heir would be entitled to these benefits?

It appears that the Pune District Security Guard Board has not yet updated their rates effective from July 2012. On the official website of the Board "http://punedistrictsecurityguardboard.in," the rates shown are effective from January 2012 onwards. The PDF of the same is attached herewith for your reference.
