How Should I Prepare for My Upcoming Safety Interview with an MNC?

Dear all, I thank you all for your daily valuable guidance in this field. I have recently completed my diploma in industrial safety and have received an interview call from one of the MNC companies. I kindly request your guidance on how to approach the safety interview. If you have any insights to share, please do so. My interview is scheduled for Tuesday, 7th Feb 2012.

First of all, for facing an interview, you have to be confident. Don't worry about what you are going to face. Make your mindset in such a manner that you are ready to face "Whatever & When it comes."

Mostly in interviews, you will get questions based on the answers you give to the first or second questions. It's a tactic to divert the interviewer's attention to the subject you like the most or know more about.

However, if the interview is systematic, you may face some good questions. Such a questionnaire is attached for your reference. Have a look and prepare well for the interview.

In addition to Dipil's list, please prepare for the following too. Usually, for freshers, questions on root cause analysis and frequency and severity rates calculations are asked. Similarly, knowing JSA, HAZOP, etc., will strengthen your abilities. Your knowledge of the Factories Act can also be questioned.

First of all, I wish you the best of luck. As regards your interview, I presume that you have all the technical skills available with you. The rest of what you need is a positive attitude and confidence.

The Importance of Inner Voice

A person's greatest potential is their inner voice. Feel free to expose your skills and talents, as this is what you are going to sell to earn employment. Also, never assess your values and potential just for the sake of getting a job. Have a vision to bring about innovation in your field. Safety and security management play a vital role everywhere because risks and hazards exist at every step.

Understanding Risk Management

For example, riding a vehicle is always a risk. However, if you know how to ride it safely, the risk is reduced. Furthermore, if you know all the safety rules of the road and follow them, you reduce the risk even further. Finally, if you keep your vehicle well-maintained, the risk is minimized. Keep in mind, risk cannot be fully eliminated because it requires awareness and the inner will of a person to be safe and keep others safe.
