Should We Issue an Acceptance of Resignation Letter Before the Last Working Day?

neelesh77
An employee has resigned from the organization. The company has accepted his resignation letter and agreed to relieve him. The resigned employee needs a letter of acceptance of resignation from the organization. As per the current practice, HR has agreed to give him a relieving letter on his last working day.

In such a scenario, should the organization issue an acceptance of resignation or not?

I welcome your views, suggestions, and comments.

Acknowledging Receipt of Resignation

It is good practice to acknowledge the receipt of a resignation. It is also important to include the following in the acceptance letter before departing from the company:

- Ensure completion of any pending work.
- Hand over all company property/tools/laptops/computers/documents/mobile phones/vehicles, etc.
- Obtain a no-dues certificate from all departments.
- Transfer contacts of vendors/contractors/customers to the company.
- Adhere to any other relevant policies.

I hope the above points are clear to you.

Regards,
Manjay
