Facing a Delayed Salary Increment: How Should I Approach My Boss About It?

meenakshi5525@gmail.com
Dear All, I have been working with my company since April 2010, and my increment was supposed to happen in December '11. At that time, my company informed me that the increment would be done the following month. However, now my boss is saying that the company is facing losses. What should I do at this stage? There are no performance issues, of which I am certain.

It's been 1.10 years in my present company. If you are asking about learning, we always do that; there are no constraints for learning. My company does not work according to the policies. If they want to give an increment, they will do it; otherwise, they will say the company is in loss. However, the people who do a lot of buttering will get two increments in one year. I guess you must have heard about "lala companies." Our company is exactly the same, but I don't want to change jobs without an increment.
Regards.

But it will have an effect on my next salary part. The interviewer will question why I didn't get an increment after working for 1.10 years with the same company.

It's not necessary that every company will release their increments after one year. Many employers can give increments after 2-5 years. Have any other employees from your company received an increment?

Thank you.

Today, I have a meeting regarding the increment. Can you suggest some strong points? As per my performance, there is no doubt. My whole office knows about my capabilities.

Increment Policy Clarification

Increment is not a matter of right; it is purely at the discretion of the company depending on their financial performance.

Then it has to be the same with everyone... Why are some people getting increments? If management has to hold the increment, then why the differentiations?
