Who Decides on Resignation Acceptance and Last Working Day in Your Company?

Dear Friends, I have a few clarifications regarding the points below. Please provide your inputs:

1. If an employee wants to submit his/her resignation letter, who has the authority to accept it? Is it HR, Operations, or in conjunction with both?
2. Can HR make the final call on the Last Working Day (LWD) of an employee without consulting Operations?
3. Can HR decide to waive the notice period for an employee when Operations do not support the employee's request?
4. For example, when X is writing the resignation letter date, should the accepting authority mention the LWD in the resignation letter date, or can they be the same?

The right to accept the resignation lies solely with HR. However, before you accept the resignation, there are many factors you need to take into consideration. For example, the employee's performance, their overall contribution to the system, etc. The circumstances under which the employee is resigning and the reason are of great significance. It is advised that in all circumstances, you should try to retain the employee if you see any scope for resolution.

HR can decide the Last Working Day (LWD) for the employee depending on the policies mentioned in the offer letter.

Yes, HR can decide to waive off the notice period depending on the reason for leaving and on factors mentioned in point 1.

Both can be the same if the notice period is waived off. If not, then the authority MUST mention the LWD.

I have corrected the spelling and grammar errors in your text and ensured proper paragraph formatting. Let me know if you need any further assistance.
