Recognizing Young Indian Heroes: The National Bravery Awards Tradition

Bhardwaj Ramesh
Dear Forum members, Every year on Republic Day, the young brave hearts of the nation are awarded the National Bravery Award by the Prime Minister for the courageous acts they have carried out. This year, 25 children are on the list to receive the award. India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, introduced these awards in 1957 after being taken by surprise by the brave act of a 14-year-old scout, Harish Chandra. Since then, the heroic acts of young children have been recognized with these respective awards. A total of 848 children have received this honor to date. PFA this year's list. Regards, RB
