New Company Hiring: How Do We Verify Employment for International Candidates?

We are a new company and want to hire staff. How can we verify their employment? We want to do the verification ourselves.

1. What are all the things we need to verify?
2. How can we verify those details? (Some of our candidates who are currently in India have worked in the USA & UK, so we need to verify out-of-country employment as well).

If a candidate approaches you, simply obtain the name and contact number of the reporting authority of that candidate in their present company and previous company. You can reach out to the provided contact and inquire about the candidate's performance, behavior, relationships with colleagues, punctuality, sincerity, and if the position involves money or payment-related responsibilities, you can address those aspects as well.

For more comprehensive feedback, you can obtain the contact details of the company where the candidate previously worked and gather more detailed performance and behavior feedback from the HR personnel, as they are responsible for performance appraisals.

Once you have conducted these verbal inquiries, you can follow up by sending them an email to document their responses or send a letter if preferred. This approach applies to companies in India or abroad.
