Formula for Calculating Probation Months

Seeking a formula that calculates in dd/mm/yy format from the Date of Joining in cell one to the Date of Confirmation in cell two. What formula should be put in the second cell to automatically count probation months? For example, 14 May 2011 (6 months) 14 Nov 2011.

Suppose in Cell A1, you are writing the Start Date/DOJ, and in Cell B1, you wish to calculate the confirmation date, which is 6 months/180 days from the start date. Please follow the steps below:

1. In cell B1, type "=A1+180"
2. Right-click on the cell → Select Format Cells
3. Click on the 'Number' tab, select 'Date' option below, and choose the 'Date Type' (e.g., dd/mm/yyyy or dd-mm-yy).

Please find the attached document related to your first query. It will provide you with the exact date, as some months have issues with varying days. For example, February has 28 or 29 days, while some months have 30 or 31 days. However, the formula in the attached Excel sheet will work perfectly.

In Excel, how do you find the difference between two dates, e.g., Cell A1 "12/03/1983" and Cell B1 "23/07/1987" in the format dd/mm/yyyy? How do you calculate the number of days between the two dates?

Thanking you in advance.

Sorry, Satpreet. Your formula is not working. When I check it using the DATEDIF formula, it shows 5 months in the result.
