Please help me to solve my queries on LWF , We situated in Pune , Is LWF applicable on higher CTC's too???

Dear Smitha,
It is not required for person who are getting more than 3500/- PM for Maharastra.
Attached MLWF act for your easy understanding.
But other state like tamilnadu clearly specify that every employee has to contribute to the fund.( No salary slab is given).

Thanks for the quick reply , but when I spoke with LWF consultant they stated that it is bound on all Employees even if their salaries are higher. And we do have all the Employees with Higher salaries only..
Please guide me in this matter.

Dear Smitha,
If that is the case check with the labour welfare board office itself.
In many states they have not mentioned the salary slab so it is applicable to all but in Maharastra they have clearly specified the salary slab.
Only they can help you out in this issue.

yes, I have the same query and I believe that to decide applicability of any labour act, its important to understand/interpretate about Type of Employee, Salary and Establishment. If its clear then we can deal with labour compliences.

The maharashtra labour welfare fund does not include managers and supervisors. However contractual workmen are included.

Dear Smita,
Please don't consider the salary slab as its clearly mentioned "Managers and Person working as Supervisor drawing salary above Rs.3500 p.m".i.e. persons who are at manager level and supervisor levels are only exempted from LWF.Where as you have to pay LWF for normal employees @ Rs.12(Employee) and Rs.36(Employer).
If you see minimum wages for Maharashtra itself morethan Rs.5000.in that case none of the employee is payable LWF if you accept Mr.Shenbagarajan view.So,please take the concerence from MLWF board and pay the LWF to applicable employees(Who are not managers and supervisor cadre).Last date for payment is 15th Jan'12.

People who includes in Decision Making Process i.e. Managers ,Directors, Supervisors are NOT include in MLWF
other than these people are included to pay MLWF.
Pls reffer the attached file as CHALAN of MLWF.
U just Read and fill the required cell n take printout and submit the chaque & the Printout of chalan.

This is to inform you all that as per the new circular issued by the Maharashtra govt. LWF contribution should be paid at the end of every quarter and not six monthly (30 June / 31 Dec).
