Curious About Attrition Rates in IT and Distribution Sectors? Let's Discuss What's Acceptable

Pallavi
Hi all,

I wanted to know what are the existing attrition rates in various sectors, especially in the IT sector and the distribution sector. Also, what is the agreeable rate of attrition (if any)?

Awaiting your responses...

Cheers,

Hi,

I do not have factual data in this regard, but what I have come to understand from my peer groups working in varied industries is that in the ITES sector, the attrition rate is generally around 40%. In the Manufacturing Sector, the expected attrition rate is 7%. The industry-accepted average for IT is supposed to be 20% or less. I am not sure of the accuracy of the values here... FYI.

Hey people,

I'm a new joiner out here and doing my MBA in HR. My friends have told me that this is the best place to get the right suggestions and guidance from the experts here, and I really need your help and guidance in my project.

I'm doing my project on "ATTRITION RATE IN THE MANUFACTURING SECTOR." My objective is to identify the major issues in the attrition rate in the manufacturing sector and to understand where and why the HR function is lacking in this sector.

I also want to compare the attrition rate of our country's manufacturing sector with the manufacturing sector of a benchmarked country (where attrition is the lowest) and then analyze where we are lacking.

I have high expectations from all of you to provide me with good guidance and suggestions. Please help me out.

And yeah, happy new year to all.

Cheers,
BIPIN
