Hi there,
Please do use this simple –
Basic Salary/31 * days of leave to be en-cashed = Your encashment.
Its 31 days cause December is 31 days the month where all leave balance are reviewed for carry forward.

To all seniors,

What is the maximum number limit to which EL gets accumulated? I mean that every year, if the employee is not availing the specified number of EL days, they get carried forward to the next year and so on. My question is, to what number can the EL be accumulated before it would be lapsed?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks

Hi Parul,

According to the provisions under Section 79(5) of The Factories Act, 1948, the earned leave balance can be carried forward to the next year and shall not be accumulated for more than 30 days in a year. So, if the earned leave exceeds 30 days, it can either be encashed when due or may be lapsed if not encashed.

Hi All,

I am working as an HR Admin Executive in Bangalore. My manager is not professional at all; she never guides me for anything. I do what I have studied or learned in my previous company. Sometimes, I have to bring coffee for her and her friends. She always scolds me for the mistakes she has done.

Here, I am working on 70% less salary because I had a 7-month gap after my marriage before coming to Bangalore. I don't have leaves for the next year because of her policies. She told me during joining that I would get a hike with my confirmation after 3 months. However, after 6 months, I am still waiting for my confirmation. She confirmed me on board, but I haven't received a hard copy of my confirmation letter or a salary hike. Rarely do people speak English here; they mostly speak Kannada, a little Hindi, or other languages. I feel like I am wasting my knowledge here without learning anything. I am searching for another job but cannot take a leave for interviews. I am losing my confidence, as well as my command over English, as you can see in this post.

Please help me out and guide me. I have 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist.

Please suggest something.

Thanks,

Swaati

Hi,

I have been out of a job for the last one and a half years due to a health problem. I was working in Delhi at an IT company in an HR generalist profile and was earning 8k per month. Now that I have recovered from my illness and am looking for a job, how much salary can I expect per month? Should I demand based on my capabilities or compromise? Please help.

Hey Swati,

It's really hard to go through such days. But I would suggest that you stand up for yourself. If you are not in dire need of a job right now, consider leaving this job and starting a fresh job search. Even if it means you are unemployed for another month, aim to settle for something that allows you to contribute your learnings and offers you a chance to learn more.

I also faced an 11-month gap due to my courtship, marriage, and relocation from Aurangabad to Baroda. Recently, I landed a job as a front desk executive, along with handling Admin and HR responsibilities. This role is obviously different from my HR studies, but it helps me learn and adds something new to my work.

I wish you luck in your future job search and hope you find what you truly deserve.

P.S. It's never too late! Stand up and start afresh... (easier said than done but give it a try, girl!)

No, leave encashment is not a part of the salary break-up. It is determined by company policy.
