Seniors please correct me if i am wrong:
Identify each manager’s comments about employees according to the Theory X and Theory Y as given below:
1.‘Be careful with it now because I will not bear this messy work like you did the last time”. ________________ (My answer is Theory X)
2.“Thanks, I am confident you will do a good job”. _____________ (My answer is Theory Y)
3.“Select the format you require for this assignment and get it to me for checking when you finish it”. ____________ (My answer is Theory Y)
4.“I will be checking up on you to make sure the job get done successfully on
time”. _______________ (My answer is Theory X,)
5.“I know you think it’s a lousy job, but someone has to do it then why not you get it done”. ______________(My answer is Theory Y)

You are on the right lines; please see Douglas McGregor's motivational Theory X and Theory Y and use keywords from the list to support your claim. Also, kindly quote the source if required.

Why don't you see the link given in my response above?

Hi Simhan,

Thank you for that link. I had not heard about the XY Theory before. I have worked for so many Theory X managers during my working life! Now I know why I had such a bad time with them! If only we could banish them from the face of the earth.

Thank you, John, for accessing the link suggested; I am rather surprised to note that you had not come across that before.

I take this opportunity to appeal to other members to explore the links at the left sidebar of that site. The links contain a lot of useful information about other motivational theories as well as on Personality, Leadership, Training, Learning, and Teaching, etc.

Have a lovely weekend.

Hey Simhan,

Thanks for sharing the site. It is quite useful. Businessballs.com is indeed useful not only for HR theories but also for games, informal aspects, and forms/formats.

Thanks for reminding me of my preferred website (during post-graduation days) as I had long forgotten it in my working schedule.

Thanks ya!!!
