Should I Mention My BPO Experience in Software Development Interviews as a Fresher?

Hey Everybody,

I got myself registered today. I have a question regarding HR interview rounds held by companies for recruiting freshers or experienced people. Well, I'm pursuing MCA and I'm in my 2nd year, so I'm pretty concerned about the interviews that I'm going to attend from next year onwards. After completing BCA in 2009, I worked at WIPRO BPO for 11 months. Then, I left Wipro and started pursuing MCA.

Should I Mention My BPO Experience in Software Development Interviews?

Now, my question is whether I should mention the 11 months of experience I had at WIPRO BPO during the interviews that I'll be attending as a fresher. The interviews I'll be attending will be for software development, so should I mention the BPO experience I had?

I'd be very grateful if somebody advises me on this because I'm puzzled right now. What should I do?

Though your experience may not count in the IT sector, it is always good to mention any work experience as it will help to show your attitude towards work. So, I think you should mention your experience in your CV.

All the very best and a happy new year.

As Mr. Dahale said, go ahead and mention your experience. There's nothing wrong with it because you dropped it to study further.

Dear Gautam, it will be an advantage to showcase your experience gained from Wipro. The company needs to know what skills you have acquired through your experience. It will be treated as a resource or a plus point for you.

Best of luck with your future endeavors.
