Hi everyone,

Is there any compulsion that a welfare officer should be MSW? M.P.M. can't be a Welfare officer. I am working in a manufacturing company in Maharashtra. I have also completed D.L.L. & L.W. Kindly give me suggestions.

Regards, Milind

Please go through the Maharashtra factory rules to understand the qualifications required. Alternatively, you can approach the nearby factories department for necessary information.

Dear Milind,

MPM is also an approved qualification for being a Welfare Officer. (I had confirmed it with the Director, ISH, Mumbai). Other postgraduate diplomas, Master degrees in Labour welfare and Labour legislations are also covered under the qualifications required for a Welfare Officer. You may refer to the required qualifications and approved institutions/universities mentioned in The Maharashtra Welfare Officer (Duties, Qualifications, and Conditions of Service) Rules 1966 for applying for the oral exam for Welfare officer. I hope this information would help you.

Dear Milind,

You can do your registration at the Labour Office in Bandra, Mumbai. You need to submit your application for registration along with your PG certificate. After 2-3 months, the department will send you a letter to appear for an oral exam. Prepare by studying the Factory Act, ID Act, PF, ESIC Act, etc., for the oral exam. Following the exam, you will receive the registration number via post within the next month.

Address:
6th Floor, Labour Office, Bandra Complex, Mumbai.

Dear Milind,

I want to pursue some more valuable courses related to my stream by distance learning only. I am also an HR professional having near about 1 year of experience in the HR field. As everybody wants to grow more and earn more, so I thought of continuing my studies. As you have mentioned above your qualifications, I thought of asking you about the same. Please suggest me the same by distance learning, valid degree/diploma, with less cost so that I can manage my study with my expenses.

Your suggestions will make my career and guide me for future endeavors. Hoping for a positive reply.

Dear Sir,

I have gone through the website and found the two courses valuable for me:

1. Diploma In Industrial Relations & Personnel Management
2. Diploma In Labour Laws

However, I want to pursue either from Delhi or from Uttarakhand as this will be convenient for me. Please suggest me in this regard.

Dear All,

Thank you for sharing information regarding the registration of the Welfare Officer. I would like to inquire about two things:

1. What are the benefits of obtaining registration as a Welfare Officer?
2. How much is the fee for the registration?

Regards,
Pranali
