I completed an MBA in HR but am not clear on the daily work of HR professionals. I hope you can help me by answering my question with your habit of sharing knowledge. Please explain the number of HR departments and the daily work pattern from HR job fresher to senior.

I am pursuing an MBA, and I will choose HR as my major specialization. I want to know what exactly we do in HR practically. What are the important topics in this field? Please guide me.

I am still looking for a job, but I would like to know how many HR professionals are typically in an office. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the ratio of senior HR professionals to HR trainees (freshers) working under them.

Detailed Example of HR Tasks

I have read the job description, but I would like a more detailed example: If I were to get an HR job in a consultancy, what tasks would I be expected to perform from the first day to the last day of the month?

I hope you understand what information I am seeking clarification on.

Regards.

It depends on the organization. Generally, in an organization, there are HR Officers, HR Executives, Senior HR Executives, Assistant Managers, Managers, and Heads of Department (HOD).

Profile Distribution

The profile is distributed as follows:

1. Recruitment
2. Training & Development
3. Payroll
4. Attendance & Housekeeping
5. Liaison with government agencies for PF, ESIC, and other legal matters.

So, there are three main parts: Recruitment, HR Operations, and Employee Engagement/Employee Retention.

Thank you, harshu07, for your input. I heard that new HR employees have to start with the fourth optional work. Generally, newcomers are not allowed into the payroll section. Is this true?
harshu07
Yes, a fresher needs to be trained for payroll; otherwise, they can handle recruitment, employee relations, and employee welfare activities.
