Factory Licensing Dilemma: Do We Need a Separate Labor License for 80 Employees?

surya.r
Dear Seniors, eighty employees are working in our factory. We have received Factory Licence Form No. 4. Should we apply for a labor license separately?

Regarding your query, you did not mention the location of your factory. Generally, there is no need to obtain a Labour License separately unless you engage labor through a contractor under the Contract Labour (R & A) Act of 1970. In such provisions, the principal employer can obtain a Registration Certificate from the Registration/Licensing Officer of the area, i.e., the office of the DCL or ACL of the respective area.
