Is Keeping a Physical Attendance Muster Necessary, or Can Software and Excel Suffice?

Is it mandatory to maintain an attendance muster in the company, or will attendance software and manual methods (such as Excel on the system) also work? Please reply, seniors.

Maintaining a Register Under the Shops and Establishments Act

It is compulsory to maintain a register as described by the Shops and Establishments Act. You can even keep it on the computer, but to be allowed to do that, you need to have a document and fill out a form as evidence. After that, the Shops and Establishments authorities allow you to keep a soft copy.

Attendance Records: Software vs. Manual Methods

Attendance on software or Excel is alright only if it is within the company. However, if it is to be shown to shops and establishment people, they do not accept it.
