Understanding PF Withdrawal: When and How to Apply After Leaving a Job?

Hi all, I have a doubt regarding the application for the withdrawal of the provident fund amount. I want to know that after leaving employment, when can an employee apply for PF withdrawal? What is the procedure to submit the Form 10C and 19 (I think)? Is there any time limit to submit these forms, or can he immediately submit them? Is it solely the responsibility of the previous HR department?

You must wait until your resignation date. From the date of application, it should be a period of 2 months. Only then will you have the option to forward your claim form to the PF office.

You have to submit the application for Form 19 and 10D after 2 months of your resignation to the previous employer. They will forward it to the Regional Office and inform you. The RPFC will settle the accounts.

Procedure for EPF Withdrawal After Resignation

After 2 months of resignation, one can claim his/her EPF amount. To do this, one must fill out Form 10 and Form 19, which are supposed to be attested by the employer. These forms should include all necessary establishment and other required details before submission to the local EPF office. Anyone can fill out this EPF Claim form and submit it directly to the EPF office.

They need to show Form 10 before the PF settlement can be processed by HRD.

My claim for PF withdrawal has been rejected by the PF department on the grounds that my employer has not submitted Form 6A to the PF department. I submitted this claim application after six months of leaving the service from that employer.

Please suggest what action I should take.

If they are rejected by the PF department, then the problem may lie in your application forms 19 and 10C. You should clearly mention the date of departure as stated in the PF office records, ensure annual returns have been submitted to the PF office, or check for any authorization issues. Please review everything thoroughly.

Hi Sudhir Kumar Ji, I resigned on 21/01/2011 from my previous company, and the same date is mentioned in the PF office. I filled out my EPF claim form by 25/09/2011. By 25/10/2011, I received an online message rejecting my EPF claim. Upon querying the EPF, they informed me that the 6A form has not been sent to their office by my previous employer yet (as of 25/10/2011). This negligence lies with the HR personnel of my previous company, am I correct?
