Stuck Between a Secure Job and a New Opportunity: How Do I Decide What's Best for My MBA and Future?

Dear all, I am currently working as a Data Entry Executive in a well-known company for 15k. I have a new job offer from a company that is not well-known. They are offering me 10k and a better designation as an Office Assistant. The company I am currently working for has a poor financial condition. I receive my salary after the 10th or 20th of every month. Currently, I am pursuing an MBA, and because of my current job, I can afford the MBA fees. However, if I join the other company, I won't be able to afford the MBA fees. What should I do?

I know this Data Entry Job will not count as experience and won't be beneficial for me. But the thing is, the company I am currently working in will give me an increment of Rs. 2000 in two or three months and probably a better designation like Office Executive or Jr. Accounts Manager. That is why I don't want to leave this company.

The reason they will give me an increment and a better position is that I have been working here since July 2010, for more than 1.5 years, and haven't received any increment yet. As per the policies of this company, they give increments every year, and sometimes before that depending on the performance of the employee. Speaking of my performance, I have never been late or absent since I joined this company. I am not only responsible for Data Entry; I also work here as a QA Executive. I listen to the Sales' calls, rectify the miscommitments by our end, manage MIS, issue salary cheques, coordinate with clients regarding the feedback of Sales, and handle emailing.

One thing I don't understand is that if you are hoping to get a good increment and senior post soon, and you have found reasons for this, you are happy with your work and job, and you also don't want to leave this job, then why are you raising this question? Just because you have never been considered for your appraisal? It doesn't matter what the company policy says in this regard, but if your boss and supervisors are not happy with your work and performance, that might be the reason you didn't get an increment last year.

After all this, I would say that you should continue your job here. You don't need to think about this change now; just stick to it and forget all other things.

You already know the answers and have made up your mind. Just list the pros and cons for each decision you are considering and choose the one that aligns with your interests.
