Hi, yesterday I got a call from a BPO for an interview for the position of a recruiter. It's an international BPO. Kindly let me know what type of questions they may ask.

1) Tell Me Something About Yourself / Please Introduce Yourself?

2) How Are You As A Person?

ANS) One word / one line

3) What Have You Done Since Morning? (Important)

ANS) Speak up for at least 2 minutes

4) What Do You Know About BPOs?

ANS) BPO stands for Business Process Outsourcing. There are two kinds of BPOs:

1) Inbound – You will have to receive the calls.
2) Outbound – You will have to make the calls.

5) Why Do You Want to Join a BPO?

ANS) A) For better growth / career prospects
B) Fastest growing industry

6) Where Do You See Yourself 3 Years Down the Line?

ANS) I see myself growing with the company.

7) Family Background

ANS) Don't specify parent's names. Just specify the profession of parents & siblings.

ANS) I want to grow vertically, not horizontally.

ANS) Yes

ANS) I will manage (don't discuss your accommodation problem with the recruiter)

ANS) Be prepared with your own answers.

ANS) Be prepared with your own answers.

17) Do You Have Any Issues in Relocating?

ANS) I have no problem relocating.

Good contribution by Ajay. These are standard and relevant questions asked in interviews; however, don't parrot these answers blindly. Understand them and be ready to justify your responses. Try to be as honest and assertive with your answers. During the interview, focus on answering the intentions of the questions!

Prepare for the Interview:

Research the company, organizational structure, work culture, HR team structure (analyze your future growth prospects), market reputation, etc.

BPO Recruiters Must Possess Exceptional Skills in:

- Coordination
- Persuasion
- Clear and Concise Communication
- Patience
- Tolerance
- Negotiation
- Organizing skills

If you are a fresher, speak to a BPO recruiter friend and get firsthand knowledge of how the industry works from consultancy and corporate points of view.

Technical Skills Required:

- MS Office (mostly Excel skills)
- Job sites, surfing skills
- Socializing
- Reporting

Be smart, assertive, and social in the interview. BPO is all about dealing with brattish youngsters.
