Dear Padmashree,

SOP for recruitment is not fixed or unique. It depends upon the need, convenience & policy of any HR department of company. In your company if nobody had prepared the SOP, that doesn't mean there is no procedure but it not on paper. Therefore, you have to identify the sequence of activities while performing the recruitment function. Once you will identify the sequence of activities I am sure you can prepare SOP for recruitment in your company.

However I have mentioned here the steps to prepare the SOP from my own knowledge & experience.

1. Identify the sub fuctions in the main fuction (for eg; in case of recruitment sub functions may be Manpower analysis, Job description, Approval from management for manpower indent, sourcing methods etc.)

2. Identify the sequence of activities (identify how these sub functions & activities flows in your company)

3. Prepare the flow chart

4. Scripting down the procedure

5. Approval from Management (Once it gets approved it becomes the Formal Document of SOP)

I hope it will help you for framing the SOP.
