Recruiting Direct Sales Executives in Big Cities: Where Do You Find the Best Talent?

jagadeesh
Hello head hunters!

I am working as an HR Executive in the Direct Sales industry. The challenging part of my job is recruiting direct sales executives/representatives and managerial personnel.

My queries are:

1. What are the primary sources for recruiting Sales Executives in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, etc.?
2. What retention strategies would you recommend?
3. We require more Sales Executives in our various locations due to the fast-moving nature of our product, but we are facing challenges in assembling the Sales Team.
4. Do you have any additional suggestions?

Regards,
Jagadeesh

1. What are the maximum sources of getting Sales Executives in metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, etc.?
Sources for getting databases or candidates are quite similar everywhere. These sources could be:
- job websites
- job postings
- references (I find these most relevant)
- campus placements (you'll find many here too)

2. What are the retention strategies?
These could be a few retention strategies:
- good policies
- compensation
- incentive schemes
- slow target addition
- senior encouragement
- proper and transparent appraisal system

3. We need to have more Sales Executives in our locations for our operations because our product is fast-moving, but the problem is finding the Sales Team.
The answer could be similar to the first one.

Apart from Deepali's points, given that you are in the Direct Sales Industry, you require high-performing individuals who can swiftly engage and contribute to achieving your company's sales objectives. Consider headhunting staff from similar companies or industries. If you are unable to do so, you can provide a brief to recruitment agencies or involve senior professionals in each sector to select their teams.

Good luck!
