Confused About Labour License Requirements in Uttarakhand? Need Clarity on Worker Limits

Dear Sir/Madam/HR Professionals,

Kindly let me know the number of workers required to have a Labour License at Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. We are supposed to be engaged in some work at the plant and need to have a Labour License regarding the same. To my knowledge, if we are engaging 20 or more workers, we need to have a Labour License. However, in the case of Gujarat, the limit should not exceed 9 workers. I am a little confused regarding the same.

As you mentioned, it is true. If you are engaging 20 or more workers, then you require a Labor License. And don't be confused; there can be different norms in Gujarat.

Requirements for a Labor License

For a Labor License, you will require: Form V, an application form as prescribed in the Contract Labor (R&A) Act 1970, a license fees challan, a license security fees challan (to be deposited in SBI treasury), a work order, etc.
