Holidays to be observed across India are:
- Republic Day
- Independence Day
- Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday
- Buddha Purnima
- Christmas Day
- Dussehra (Vijay Dashami)
- Diwali (Deepavali)
- Good Friday
- Guru Nanak's Birthday
- Eid ul-Fitr
- Eid al-Adha (Bakrid)
- Mahavir Jayanti
- Muharram
- Prophet Mohammad's Birthday (Id-e-Milad)
Three holidays are decided in congruence with the State Government. An additional day for Dussehra, Holi, Janmashtami (Vaishnavi), Ram Navami, Maha Shivratri, Ganesh Chaturthi / Vinayak Chaturthi, Makar Sankranti, Rath Yatra, Onam, plus any other holiday as per the Gazette Notification of respective States.
Note your State Notification on leaves in congruence with the Central Government Notification. Normally, private companies have about 11-14 public holidays in a year.
