Worried About Your HR Trainee Experience Without Official Documents? What Should You Do?

Aditi_Mitra
I have been working as an HR trainee for a company for the last 4 months, under the payroll of a consultancy firm. It is a complete generalist profile, and the work is very interesting. However, I have not received any appointment letter. Salary is paid in cash, and there are no deductions for PF or professional taxes or the like. My question is, will my experience hold without any such documentary evidence? If not, what should I do?

Thank you.

Dear Aditi Mitra,

Knowledge is our wealth! What you are learning will definitely help you if you change jobs. You can try to find out if they provide an experience certificate when you leave the company. If they do, you can continue working; if not, it might be better to quit. Normally, any consultancy does not provide an appointment order. You can at least request an offer letter. Do you have salary slips? Kindly note, you should have either a service certificate, an offer letter, or salary slips. If you do not have all three, try requesting them and kindly let me know their reply in this same post.

Thank you for the response. I do have an offer letter and have been promised an appointment letter too, but it will be issued 6-8 months after joining. Salary is paid in cash here and is directly credited to my personal savings account. We do not receive any payslips for it.

Furthermore, I have recently learned that it is not customary to provide any kind of experience certificates here. What should be my next step in this case? Kindly guide me.

Regards,
