Managing employees on an off-roll basis is an illegal process. To transition them to on-roll status, off-roll workers must first be paid the prescribed minimum wages of the state according to their category. Secondly, ensure that these employees are covered under the EPF/ESIC scheme if it is applicable to them. Additionally, maintain the date of joining as the latest one, not the previous one.
