Technical Writer - Technical Writing

Hi,
I am looking for a short tem course in technical writing? I work as a content writer, Want to move into technical writing/instructional designing. Are both of them the same?
What computer software are mandatory in this line of work? What are career prospect in this field?
Can somebody help?

Hi Shikha,
Technical writing is quite different from content writing. The job invloves writing technical documentation like user guides, installation guides, online help, release notes etc and sometimes marketing documents
You need to have a flair for writing and learn Help authoring tools such as Robohelp and Microsoft Word - advanced level. This will be enough to get started.
A lot of companies offer trng courses. Please google for it.
