that is 1.61%
the total is 12% (employee share) + 12% (employer share) + 1.61% (administrative charge) = 25.61%

Dear goutam.sonu,
I got an offer letter from an employer, in that they have mentioned my basic as Rs.8333/- per month & my PF(from employers side) is Rs. 780/- per month.
How is this possible?????
Please explain........
regish123
this is becoz the maximum amount for the pf is subject to the maximum of Rs 6500.(basic+da) so the employer may contribute only 12 % of this amount
D_InSoMiNaC
Does it means that employer can contribute a max. amount of Rs.780/- only irrespective of the basic pay of the employee????????????
regish123
other wise they need to giv letter to the pf authority regarding the enhqancmnt of the pf limit from 6500

Hi,
The upper limit is fixed to Rs 6500*12% however the contribution can be more that 6500 which depende upon emplolyees and employers negotiation at the time of hiring/apprasial.

hi
so this PF concepts,, who are get salary more than 6500 they are not eligible to get PF that's right?
harpreetwalia
Hi,
All the employees are elligible for PF facility. Those who are drawing a basic salary of less than or equal to Rs 6500 are mandatory to be covered under PF. All the employee getting more than Rs 6500 basic salary are not mandatory to be covered however they can still take this facility with a mutual consent of employer as the 13.61% also to be paid by employer which includes adminstration charges as well. This can happen at the time of joining or at the time of appraisal.

No, 12% of 6500 is the minimum amount that you have to remit i.e 780, it means those who are getting 6500 or more than that they are required to remit 780 and for those who are getting less than 6500 it depends on 12 % of their basic + D.A + retaining allowance if any.
It does not includes
(i) the cash value of any food concession;
(ii) house-rent allowance, overtime allowance, bonus, commission or any other similar allowance payable to the employee in respect of his employment or of work done in such employment;
(iii) any presents made by the employer
i think now you are clear
