Dear Amit..
what you can do is,
As a part of Employee Welfare you can start a Creche in your organiation,
because this situation will keep on rising, so if permanant creche is been established it will also be useful for womens who will be coming for maternity, and they will not take more days of holidays. Also you will fulfill statutory requirement if your women employees are more than 30, and women employees will be dedicated and happy towards the organisation.

Hi Amit,
As quoted by others, some women employees may not have an option to leave their kids somewhere. However, we can have some restricted area for them for their activities to be done and at the same time enjoy our work. Children (if they are little older) have to make them understand that like school is like office too and that somewhere they have to maintain the decorum.

Dear Ashok,
There can be a much simpler solution to this problem. Taking Mr. Bhaskar's suggestion forward, it would be much more convenient for you and your management to employ temporary services of a child day care center, if possible near to your office. Taking Diwali vacations and school summer holidays into perspective, it would be much easier on the minds of mothers and they would be able to contribute more towards work. This day care center be furthermore utilized to help new mothers who can leave their wards from morning till evening, under good care and service. This practice is very popular in the western countries such as USA and Canada, where most of the people have nuclear or single families.

It is happening in some organisations where a number of married women are working and being both husband and wife are working, there is no one at home to lookafter the kids after school. The kids come in the organisation after school hours but they are kept in a creche maintained by the organisation with all necessary items like toys, bed, small indoor kids games, under Factories Act 1948. A lady creche attendant may also be arranged.
Mr. Bhasker also suggested the same. You should take it positively and have good results.
Thanks

Hi,
I agree with Mr. Rakesh Sharma, It is not a simple task to handle children in the office also it is not limited to the toys and painting materials. Last year we were conducted a children camp of our company employees. They always cry for their parents because we are not their regular teachers as they learn in their schools.
Secondly, deffer of age group is also a problem in arranging facilities/activities for them.
Safety of children, Attention diversion of co-employees is also a another problems in the organization.
Parents have to take care of their children. In other side, if Management is decides to take care within the premises then you have to arrange seprate place for them, teachers, teaching materials, caretakers etc.

Looks like people suggesting to arrange for a temporary Play School in the office. Space is a major constraint in most of the offices and may not be available. don't know how he is going to manage it.

All I would say is, GET A BETTER HR POLICY IN EFFECT, if you don't have one.
Office decorum needs to be maintained, no matter what. Women usually get away with it anything, due to the oomph factor. Learn to maintain strictness no matter what.
This coming from an HR who managed 5000 MEN once upon a time (no women).

This is a very delicate issue. This has to be solved tactically. The best way to overcome this, as one member has suggested, is to put the children in a separate room and allow them to play so the their parents are not disturbed. But even after this facility, if the children continue to come to parents and disturb them, we have to politely tell the parents not to bring them TO THE office in future as their out will be affected. If this not possible, we can request one of our colleagues with whom these parents are close and listen to their advice.

After 16 years of service with my organisation, I have seen quite a few lady employees take their kids to the office for necessary reasons, I'm afraid. However, I find that if employers exercise understanding, the employees also maintain a healthy degree to abiding work policies and do their best to keep their children at bay as much as possible. This understanding creates a good relationship and respect between subordinates and superior. An organisation that looks after the welfare of its employees sets itself a healthy working environment and productivity. This will come in useful especially in times of crisis.
