Creating Effective HR Policies: What Key Factors Should You Consider?

purohitravindrarc
Dear all,

I need guidelines on formulating HR policies for my organization. This process should be executed from the bottom floor to the top. What factors should be considered and how should this be done? I am looking forward to your response!

Thank you,
Ravindra

Hi Ravindra, Greetings. I am not an expert or experienced, but I wish I can give some suggestions for your issue. You can frame the policies right from the arrival of an employee into the organization until he leaves the organization in the evening. For example, when he enters: 1. He must show his access card for attendance purposes. If not, he must enter his name in the attendance register. 2. His dress code 3. His lunch timings 4. His responsibilities during office hours 5. His leave details 6. His compensation according to his attendance, and so on. This might help you. Regards, Gayathiri

Hi, Ravindra,

I have a copy of the guidelines that were posted on Cite HR some days ago. I feel that it will be useful to you. Please download it.

Hi Buddy,

The most important thing, which I feel, is that you should review the policies first, which are known to everyone but not drafted. Then, you can address the policies based on the problems faced in an organization. Lastly, consider potential problems that the company may encounter.

For example, the Leave Policy, time and attendance policy, etc., can be discussed first, followed by the referral policy, advance against salary policy, performance appraisal policy, and so on.

Please let me know if you need any kind of help in this regard.

Regards,
Nidhi
