Facing a Worker Strike Over Wages: How Do I Manage and Document the Process?

bijendersharma
Dear Seniors,

I would like to know how to handle a strike of workers related to salaries above the minimum wage. What is the procedure to control the situation, and what documents will have to be prepared and maintained? My company is currently facing this issue, and we have not maintained any documents thus far. Our owner is attempting to address the matter verbally, with the possibility of issuing warning letters in the future. I will need to maintain this procedure.

Please help me navigate through these issues step by step.

Warm Regards,
Bijender Sharma

In my opinion, you all need to be tactful. You can tell them that in the middle of a financial year, their demand for a salary hike cannot be met because it can only be revised at the beginning of a financial year. Budgets should be prepared accordingly. Apart from that, management can sit with the leader of the union or the workforce and discuss the same. If the situation worsens, it would be preferable to seek help from the police.

Hope this helps you!

Many thanks for replying to me. We have already discussed it with them, but they are not in agreement. Now, we will have to proceed with the documentary procedure. Therefore, I need a warning letter, a show cause notice, etc., to be prepared step by step in Hindi. Please assist as soon as possible.

Warm Regards,
BS

Dear Bijender, regret to inform you that I won't be able to provide you with the required letters in Hindi. However, you may use the research tool of Cite HR. You will find many samples and can later translate them.

Regards.
