Is There Still a ₹10,000 Cap on Basic + DA for Bonus Eligibility? Where to Find It in the Act?

sherry.dsza@gmail.com
I've heard that there is a cap of a maximum ₹10,000/- on Basic + DA for eligibility for a bonus, but I couldn't find it in the Act. Is it still applicable? If yes, can you guide me on where to find it in the Act?

Thanks & Regards,

Yes, the cap is still applicable, but there is a proposal to raise it to $15,000. In this regard, there is a bill, but it is yet to be amended in the Bonus Act. The amendment in the Bonus Act is enclosed.

You have misunderstood the bonus applicability. The maximum ceiling limit for the bonus is ₹10,000. The minimum ceiling is ₹3,500. Employees who earn less than ₹6,500 will receive either 8.33% (Minimum) or 20% (Maximum) bonus annually.
