Government-Declared Election Holidays: Should Our Private Company Follow Suit?

Government Order on Holidays for Elections

The Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamil Nadu issued G.O. (Ms.) No. 76 dated 11.10.2011 regarding holidays on 17.10.2011 and 19.10.2011 for the forthcoming elections to local bodies.

Should our private company also grant leave for these two days to our employees? Kindly clarify as soon as possible, please.

Our Tamil Nadu government has announced a holiday on the 17th and 19th days. Attached are the documents for your reference.
