Feeling Lost After Leaving a Job? Seeking HR Opportunities in Delhi for a Fresh Start

Hi Members!

It's been over 2 months since I last visited the site and interacted with the forum members. I recently started a new job and was initially very excited about it. However, upon joining, I realized that the working environment was completely different from what I had expected. The company is affiliated with the army (I prefer not to disclose its name), and I found it challenging to adapt to the unique setup. Consequently, I made the decision to leave the job yesterday and am currently unemployed.

I am now seeking a new job opportunity in HR in Delhi, leveraging my extensive 3 years of experience in HR, specifically in the Generalist profile. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance in this regard.

Looking forward to your help. :(

Hi Deepti,

What is an employee engagement profile? Can you please let me know what sort of role and responsibilities to perform?

Just to update myself.

Thank you.

Sorry, Prachi,

I am based in Chennai. But I guess you access through web postings, you should be able to get one fast. All the best...

If it is of any consolation, I too am looking for freelance soft skills assignments. So, my advice is to relax and meanwhile strengthen your strong points and break your self-limiting factors.

Best regards,
Sujatha

Hi Prachi,

Yes, all are very true. Enroll yourself with some of the good job search portals. Apart from this, register with some of the good consultancies in your locations. In between, just go through some study materials and prepare for the interview.

Moreover, don't lose your confidence; you will definitely get a better job.

Hi Prachi,

Do not lose your confidence. You should register your profile on good job portals and with consultants in your location. Also, contact your friends and ask them if they have any openings in their company. I would say the best approach is to seek advice from someone who is already working in that particular organization. This way, you could gather more information about the company before taking up any new assignment. In the long run, too many job changes on your profile would not reflect well. Good companies do not prefer job hoppers. So, think carefully before making a move this time.

I am from Chennai, so I may not be able to guide you for jobs in Delhi. All the best!

Hi Prachi,

Don't get upset, the HR market is now open in a big way. If you are open to relocation to Mumbai, I can definitely help you. Please post your resume on Monster, Jobsahead, Naukri, Timesjob, etc. All the best. It's just a phase; it will pass away.

Regards

Dear Prachi,

I suggest you first inform us of your requirements - what kind of job you are looking for and where you would like to be placed, whether in Delhi, Gurgaon, or elsewhere.

Don't worry; you can secure a job of your choice rather than accommodating yourself in your current position.

Hi Prachi,

How are you today?

You have a huge family backing you. Keep putting your resume on all the websites and also search for new ones. The web and CiteHR are growing multifold. Tell us when you have landed a good one... And if you haven't yet, expand your horizon. Go girl, go...

Regards,
Sujatha

Hi Prachi,

I have been in a similar situation. I tried searching for a job for 8 months. I had just 11 months of experience backing me. But recently, I got a job as an HR generalist. I used to get upset, but I had no choice but to try hard. So the key to surviving this period is to have patience and prayer. But at the same time, put in effort:
1. Register on Naukri - the best job portal to hunt for jobs.
2. Pick up Hindu opportunities or any other newspaper that has job openings and contact all the companies that have advertised any kind of vacancies (not just HR). Because you never know, they may actually consider you even if there wasn't an explicit position in HR.

You will get a job soon, Prachi. Above all, be positive.

I must say the folks at Citehr are the nicest people I have interacted with. The support and knowledge that each of the members has shared is great :)

Regards,
Jenna
