ESI Deduction On Monthly Incentives

Dear Senior
I have learned that Incentives are not comes under ESI preview
My company distributing incentives end of the avery month and deducting ESI from them is it a correct practice??
please advice me

Any incentive shown in payslip in every month are covered for ESI deductions.
(22) “wages” means all remuneration paid or payable in cash to an employee, if the terms of the contract of employment, express or implied, were fulfilled and includes 22[any payment to an employee in respect of any period of authorised leave, lock-out, strike which is not illegal or lay-off and] other additional remunera­tion, if any, 23[paid at intervals not exceeding two months

our company giving salary through bank and paying incentives in cash, in pay in slip we are showing only salary

Its right to deduct ESI from performance incentive (Its generally over time but company unwilling to call it over time).

The reply posted by Mr. Ingle is correct, but if you pay this incentive quarterly it will not fall under ESI as shown in Mr. Ingle's reply in blue.
