Leaving a Job in the UAE: Will I Owe Money or Get Benefits When Switching Hotels?

mdkasif7
My colleague has been working in a 5-star hotel in the UAE for 4 years. My second visa was renewed 6 months ago. Now, I have received a new job offer from another hotel. If I leave my current job now, would I have to pay anything or would I be entitled to any benefits here?

Dear Mr. Kasif, Would you mind suggesting to your colleague to have discussions with his HR and secure relevant information? One must follow the respective country's LABOR LAWS. To my knowledge, as per company policy, an employee needs to serve a NOTICE PERIOD of a minimum of ONE MONTH. To join another local employer, you must obtain a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (NOC) from your current EMPLOYER. Your friend will be receiving GRATUITY, i.e., FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT.

Secondly,

- Whose visa was renewed 6 months ago?
- Who has received a new offer?

Kindly be specific while posting your query, and moreover, why doesn't your friend post his query directly in this forum? What is the major purpose in communicating on behalf of your friend?

With profound regards

Thank you, Mr. Khadir. The story is for one person only. He is working in a star hotel, and his second visa was renewed six months ago. This visa is an emigration (Free Zone) visa, and that hotel does not have an HR department.

There must be someone to answer his queries. He should talk to the person he is reporting to. Every organization has its own hierarchy. He has to follow the procedure for getting himself relieved after completing all formalities. There is a way to get things done. Ask your friend to invest efforts to secure his new job.

With profound regards
