New to HR with an IT Background: How Do I Navigate Expectations and Plan for an MBA?

itengg.ankita
Hi everyone, I am Ankita. I need guidance from all you experienced people. Actually, I have done my graduation in BE (IT), but I am working as an HR executive. It has been 8 days since I started. I know nothing about this field. How should I keep up? What is expected from HR in terms of behavior, interaction with employees, and handling responsibilities? I am trying my best, but I get stuck sometimes. Also, in the future, I want to pursue an MBA. How should I plan it?

Thanks.

I also get stuck with communication sometimes. I have pretty good written skills, but I think I should improve my interpersonal skills. How should I do that?

Dear Ankita,

First of all, I will say you are not the right candidate for the profile at the moment. You are not aware of your profile, nor are you trained for it, so you will face problems. I suggest you start reading HR books and try to understand your responsibilities from your senior. If you have an interest in learning new things, you will find success.

All the best,

Regards,

Actually, I have been taken because I have plans for an MBA in the future. Also, in college, I have taken up mock interviews and group discussions, but there is a lot more to do here.
