Hi Anju,

I would actually take this as feedback and would improve on the same. Would you want to tell me what you mean by TEXTY and TASTY?

Cheers,
Gayathri Suraparaju

Dear Anjuman,

I agree with you. If in a forum like this, if the full text is not given, then there are more chances of misunderstanding and misinterpretation. The writer is the best judge. So, it is perfect, in my opinion, to be elaborate even on PPT. I hope this makes some sense. You may agree to disagree.

Hi Gayatri,

This is Srinivas from a Government of India (GOI) Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) in Hyderabad. I have been a member of Hyderabad CiteHR. Are you aware of HydCiteHR? We regularly meet once a month and have a lot of interactions and discussions on various topics among professionals from different backgrounds including Pharma, IT, Service, and Management sectors. It would be a delightful experience to be among so many HR practitioners, providing splendid opportunities for personal development in the HR field.

I recommend that you attend one of these meetings scheduled for August 12th, 2007, where you can share your thoughts on the HR profession.

Regarding your presentation on Administration and HR, you deserve appreciation for your efforts. However, your presentation could include more detailed roles of Administration and HR such as Security, Annual Maintenance Contracts, Tour and Travel arrangements, handling Internal and External Customer queries, managing VIP visits, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, liaising with Government officials/departments, especially if it is a manufacturing group, and ensuring compliance with Labor legislation, among others. Nevertheless, it was a great attempt. Keep sharing such valuable posts.

For more information about the HR meeting, feel free to email me at srinivaskvmk@yahoo.co.in.

Regards,

Not 36 views - it is 412 downloads! Since you say that you would use the feedback to make improvements, and since too few people think of giving honest criticism, I have to say that I agree with the comment that there is more text. As you know, a PowerPoint presentation should not read like part of a book but should highlight salient points as phrases, not full sentences. There should not be too much writing on one slide; the slide should be used only as a prop for explaining. I think I shall soon put an article on presentations on the forum. I believe it will help the young people on the list. I hope my remarks are taken in good spirit - after all, I am only trying to transmit my knowledge of some 50 years of working life. - R. Dear Ms. Gayatri Ji,

It is a very nice PowerPoint presentation. This will help clarify more doubts between Administration and Management principles. Would you please consider creating similar content for Personnel, HR, and Welfare functions?

Hi,

Very good trial! As you said, the old wine (PM) is in a new bottle (HRD). All these are already present in different forms in our Indian lifestyles and in books and epics such as Thirukkural, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata, etc.

Some of us jointly extract scripts and tailor them to meet the new requirements as HRD tools.

Thanks and Regards,

Bye!

Hi members,

I have learned that any PowerPoint presentation (PPT) should contain distinctiveness at an appropriate location, and its size should vary accordingly: heading, subheading, sub-heading, sub-sub-subheading. Different colors may also be chosen, but the color scheme should remain consistent throughout the PPT. The main title, front page, and subject may be colorful. A combination of blue and red colors with a design in the background appears powerful to me. If the front page is well-designed or attractive, it can create a sensation in the audience in silence, bringing freshness to their minds. This front page may be shown for a few seconds. The other portions should be kept simple with a white background. These are a few tips that I thought I must share with members.

One line should convey one thought, and this can be further explained. It should not be in prose. Three to four lines on one slide appear most suitable to me. Those who fill the slides with prose, like I believe, may be apprehensive about forgetting the contents or issues while making the presentation.

Hi Dear,

Would it be possible for you or anyone else to send me information on HR & ADM activities typically involved during engineering projects in companies? I have recently joined an engineering company that is currently working on a project, so I would appreciate any guidance you can provide on this matter. Thank you.

Dear Gayatri,

Well done! But, could you please attach the supporting details of the presentation since it is very small and does not provide detailed information?
