In the event of the death of a family member of an Insured Person (IP) under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme, is it possible for the family to receive Funeral Expenses from ESIC?
Please submit Form 25A to avail the cash benefit of the deceased IP along with the ESI card and death certificate to the branch office within 6 months. If it is more than six months, it has to go to the regional office through the branch office, but it will take time. Funeral expenses are around Rs. 5000/- payable to the nominee/legal heir.
Funeral expenses limit is Rs. 10,000 in a lump sum to defray expenditure incurred on the funeral.
