It is my belief that IT personnel work for foreign nations, and they observe weekend holidays. As a result, we also follow the same practice, which is why IT companies do not recognize many of our festivals as holidays. I don't think this has anything to do with strict adherence to rules or compensating for extra hours.

Actually, we deserve it. Otherwise, we will crash on Monday morning. Sometimes we do work on Saturdays and Sundays too, depending upon the deliveries if delayed.

Most of the prominent IT companies engage in the export of their software and interact with their foreign clients, addressing software-related queries only during their clients' working hours. Since these companies are primarily located in the USA, UK, European countries, and Australia, where the standard workweek is five days, the main reason for keeping Saturday as an off day could be to account for potential slackness without client demands on that day. In our company, we have a 6-day workweek with only the 2nd Saturday off. However, all employees wish that either all Saturdays or at least alternate Saturdays should be off. IT professionals do more creative and technical work. They don't have to deal with people; instead, they deal with codes, technical aspects, and creative images or content. They need to have more brainstorming than any other team. So, they feel devastated by just getting Sundays off as their week off. Therefore, they should be granted Saturdays off as well.
