If you have not submitted the nomination forms so far, you may submit them now. Although the nomination forms are expected to be submitted along with form 5, the same can be submitted separately. However, non submission of nomination involves a risk that if some thing happens to the employee, it will be difficult for you to process the PF claim forms of the deceased employees dependants and if that situation arises, you will have to face the consequences because you can not get the signature of the deceased in the form and you will not be able to decide who shall be his nominee. Therefore, if the Act says that nomination form should be submitted within 15 days of one's joining, comply with it. In case of any lapse, accept it and submit it right now.
