As far as the Payment of Gratuity Act is concerned, if the establishment is having branches in more than one State, then according to section 2(a)(i)(b) of the Payment of Gratuity Act, the Appropriate Government is the Central Government. The Central Government would have notified Controlling Authorities and Appellate Authorities for specified areas. The details of this notification you can get from the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central). As your establishment is having branches in more than one State, the Controlling Authorities and the Appellate Authorities will be different officials depending on the notification issued by the Central Government. However, under the A.P.Shops and Establishments Act, the officials of the A.P.State will have jurisdiction.
