Dear Vishnu,
Others have given you some sound advice. So, I will raise some questions first and then give some pointers.
Where are you doing the course and in which mode? Please tell me which topic or field was not new when you started studying? When I started on my post-grad diploma in management, all the topics were new as I had an engineering degree. when I started on the engineering degree after BSc degree all the topics were new.
Have you studied Research Methodology as a subject in your course? If not, kindly see my post on that subject, at CiteHR. If you have, then you should have come across the concept of the "Funnell Approach". It is used to narrow down a topic in a field, for example, Industrial Safety. The way to choose a topic is to decide what you feel passionate about in that field, where you can get access to do primary research, what interests the organisation or what is needed by them, the time and other resources you have at your disposal, etc.
The best way to decide on a short list of topics is to search, access, and read scholarly articles/reports. To set you on the course here is a link.
