Guidelines for Forming an HR Club in an MBA College: Mission, Vision, and Activities

Abdulpremier
Dear All,

Greetings for the day!

In our college (MBA Institute), we would like to formulate an HR club. However, I am unsure of how to start or establish a club. The majority of people are in agreement to form a club, but my query pertains to how to create a charter outlining the vision and mission of the club. We have approached the management, and they have requested us to prepare the charter for the club.

Could anyone assist me in forming such a club in the MBA College? How should we go about launching the club and what activities should the club engage in post-formation?

Please help me at your earliest convenience.

Thanks,
Warm regards,

Hi,

First, name your club; then think about the aim of your to-be-club - why it is formed - that could be your mission. For example, 'HR Club' - Aspiring HR professionals - we have it in us!

You can select a logo/badge for it as well.

Define a few guidelines on how to be a part of this club and the mandatory rules to be followed if you are a member. Select people who will work with dedication and enthusiasm, not just a bunch of friends.

There should be a properly defined team (such as secretary, PR executive, coordinators, etc.) with one faculty member taking care of the club.

A monthly or quarterly newsletter can be released, which would include all the activities done by the club.

Different events - quiz, cultural programs, sports events can be organized.

Plan for one mega event annually wherein esteemed people from the HR Fraternity can come and share a platform on a current topic and share their knowledge with aspiring students and answer their relevant queries (keeping in mind the budget).

There should be a mix of juniors & seniors in the club activities.

Maintain identity - by wearing a badge or something that distinguishes you (if not daily, at least at the events).

Maybe you could start by defining the objectives for the club. From that, only you can create your mission and vision. Also, the newsletter is a good idea. You can also conduct polls and quizzes that will make it a bit more exciting. Your club activities can also include energy conservation, go green sort of causes that will include CSR in your club activities.

Kindly see The Formation and Running of University Clubs and Societies found at Google. This shows that searching the web for information results in more detailed guidelines than can be given by members.

Have a lovely day.
