First of all, you need to identify the training needs of these workers and then decide on the topic for training.

I am working in a manufacturing company. You have to discuss with your boss which training they need, whether it is product training, machine maintenance, first aid, fire safety, or any new machines introduced into the factory. According to you, a plan needs to be made. Ask your queries clearly, so that anyone can help.

Thanks & Regards,

Please start a training survey among the workers and select topics such as training on absenteeism, attitude shift, better teamwork with co-workers, and similar subjects.

To start with, you can go for 5S and basic safety training programs. Then, discuss with the concerned HODs and prepare a skill matrix related to their function. Based on the skill matrix, you can proceed with the training schedule. For soft skills, you can have a set of topics related to your employees as advised by our friends in their replies.

The training which I would prefer to provide to the workers is, first, job-related training on how to achieve output, do's and don'ts while at work, performance targets, and general organizational rules.

At a later stage, based on their skills and knowledge, we can decide on additional training such as team building, interactions with seniors and colleagues, and other aspects.

Apart from 5S Housekeeping, awareness of logistics, fire safety, stress management, basic yoga, and meditation will also be helpful. In addition to this, self-motivation and achievement motivation will be useful for them. If they are on the threshold of entering supervisory roles, supervisory skills will be beneficial for them. I have conducted this program for facilities management, builders, etc., in the recent past.

First of all, you need to decide whether you are looking for product training or organizational training, such as induction or enlightenment sessions. Once you have determined that, you can proceed accordingly to fulfill your requirements and then create training charts and plans.

Before starting any training program, conduct a proper risk assessment of the workplace and the jobs being performed. From the results of the risk assessment, determine the training needs for each individual. Develop the training modules by specifying the objectives of the program clearly. The main idea should be to impart specific knowledge about safe operation and maintenance and to educate about the safe storage and handling of materials and chemicals.

Examples for a Shop Floor:

- Hazards involved in the workplace and the control procedures.
- Emergency procedures: Evacuation, mock drills, basic firefighting, etc.
- Housekeeping.
- First aid.
- 5S, etc.

How to Manage Your Money

(We have realized that this program is a must for workers as it increases job satisfaction. Workers think that they don't have enough money because the company is not paying them well. But essentially, they do not know how to manage money well.)

There are so many programs, but you have to narrow it down based on the type of people that work for you.
