Struggling to Withdraw PF Without Old Employment Documents? Here's My Dilemma

subhendu_ganguly2003
I worked with an organization from 1996 to 1998. I do not have details such as an employee number, appointment letter, relieving letter, or salary slip. I only remember the period I worked with that organization. The company is asking for my employment details to withdraw my PF. They mention that after I submit the releasing order to them, they will send my PF withdrawal form to the respective commissioner.

Kindly advise, please.

Approach a PF employee for help. It can be done even without approaching the said organization.

There will be PF agents or Legal Consultancy doing this type of work. You can approach them for a nominal fee; it can be done.

Dear Mr. Subhendu_ganguly2003,

I have seen your letter asking about the method of withdrawing the PF accumulations. I would like to mention that the settlement PF forms 19 and 10D should be routed through the previous employer. Alternatively, you can send them through any person mentioned in the PF settlement instruction form after filling all the columns.

Every employer is required to maintain PF Form No. 9, which is the PF number allotment register. They can retrieve your PF number and the date of joining the scheme from it. Otherwise, your date of entry and exit will be obtained from PF Forms No. 5 and 10. The last salary details and any breaks in service can be retrieved from PF Form 3A (R) (individual employee's statement) and also from Form 6A (annual return).

If there is any delay in processing your application or for any other reasons, they may request additional details. It's advisable to visit in person and submit your form. I believe they will assist you as you are their former employee.

Regards,
